I’m sure that those of you who were able to get in on the $280 r/t Melbourne price glitch a few days ago will probably not see much of a deal here, but this new nonstop route is currently priced less than flights with a connection.

United is starting new service between Houston (IAH) and Sydney (SYD) for $1003, NONSTOP. Flights from February to June, and also late-July and August. Holiday blackouts apply.

This flight is 5,896 miles and is the second longest flight from the United States.

Note: This is a new flight out of Houston. We expect this added competition will eventually bring lower average prices. We often see 1-stop Sydney deals drop into the $770-$900 range, hopefully this new nonstop route will push those even lower.

  • Example Dates: (BookingBuddy / Priceline) Feb 07 – Feb 14 / etc… (Pretty much any day from February to June) / Jul 25 – Aug 01 / Aug 01 – Aug 08 / etc… / Aug 28 – Sep 04 / Other dates:  There are more dates available than the ones we list here, experiment on your own.

Before you finalize your purchase, do a quick check on BookingBuddy to see if any other site or airline is offering a better deal. Different booking websites will often have differing routes, prices, and availability.

I was able to pull this up on Travelocity and Priceline. Screenshot taken at 2:12 PM on 11/04/17.

Note: OTAs such as Travelocity and Priceline allow free cancellation without penalty within 24-hours after you purchase. As deals sell-out or expire quickly, this policy will allow you to “lock-in” the cheap fare while you sort out a plan. Just keep in mind that after 24-hours, you will not be able to cancel without the regular penalty.
