[08/07/2013 @ 1:54 PM] The fare for $768 is no longer available, but you can find flights for about $868 on mid-week flights in October.

Lots of flights to China (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong) from Houston (IAH) are on sale right now. The best one I’ve found so far is Houston (IAH) to Beijing (PEK) for $768 round-trip in September. These flights normally go for about $1200 – $1600 so they’re almost half as expensive as they normally would be.

Air China will open a new Direct Non-Stop route from Houston (IAH) to Beijing, China (PEK) on July 12th, which probably explains why there is a massive sale going on by their competitors before that happens.

NOTE: You will need a Tourist Visa if you are not a citizen or resident alien of China. You can get one at the Chinese Consulate on Montrose for about $130. You do not need a Visa for Hong Kong, your passport is valid there.
