This is an update to an older post that was removed from the active deals list. I’ve re-added it and updated the details.
If you’re trying to get cheap flights from Houston (IAH) to Hong Kong (HKG) you still have a couple of options:
- Asiana via Incheon (ICN) and Los Angeles (LAX).
- Air Canada via Toronto (YYZ), Montreal (YUL) or Vancouver (YVR).
- United via Tokyo (NRT), Chicago (ORD) or San Francisco (SFO).
The Air Canada routes require a layover of at least 10-hours in either Vancouver (YVR) or Toronto (YYZ) which is not a bad thing if you don’t mind spending at least a night in one of those cities. The Asiana route is more straight forward, with 2 stops of about two-and-a-half hours each. Mileage accrual for the Asiana flight is 70%. Keep that in mind if miles are important to you. The United route allows for free open-jaws and two stopovers on for $100 each, so it’s probably the best route to take if you’re wanting to do a multi-city tour of Asia for cheap.
If you would like to see an example of the United fare being used to create a multi-city itinerary with two stopovers in Japan, read this post: [How to use stopover rules when buying airfare].
