The Caribbean is obviously on sale right now due to inexpensive airfare being offered by American Airlines. Cheap round-trip flights from Houston (IAH) to Grand Cayman (GCM) are about $231. I’m not sure how long this deal will last, but I’m guessing “not very long”. This route may require overnight stopovers in Miami (MIA). Adjust your days accordingly if this is a problem for you. Or, just enjoy the change up and think of it as a free stopover in Miami (MIA), because technically it is.
This fare is available far into mid 2015. If you’re trying to avoid the overnight stopovers in Miami, try looking for flights from January until April 2015. When this deal was originally posted, there was a lot of seat availability, but now I’m seeing less and less. If you’re interested in this deal, you should probably book soon.
The best hotel deals in the Grand Cayman will be during the off-season which runs from May to November. If it does rain, it tends to comes in short, sharp bursts that will usually not ruin a day. Keep in mind that the off-season is Hurricane season and a Hurricane will probably put a damper on the festivities (to say the least). That said, you may want to try look at the cusp of the off-season (November or May) for good hotel deals.
Consider this: If you take the November 8th / November 15th flights from Houston you can book the Sunshine Suites Resort (on Venere.com) right now for $149 a night. Not bad, considering that it’s one of the highest ranked hotels on TripAdvisor. If you book during the busy season in January, the price is much higher: $231 a night for the same place.
