We now cover flights from Chicago on our sister publication Escape Flights – Chicago.

I’m not sure why there has been such fierce competition for this route this year, but it’s been constantly on sale. This time Southwest is offering nonstop, round-trip flights from Houston (HOU) to Chicago (MDW) for a ridiculous $88 ($44 each way). Fare is reversible and is available for midweek flights into the middle of June.

For a first visit to Chicago with our 2 kids (9 and 4) would you say 3 days is plenty to see around?

    • That should be fine, just visit during the warmer months May / Jun for more daylight hours and clearer skies (generally speaking).
