If you’re planning to head to Detroit for Memorial Day weekend, (May 25 – May 27) it’s cheaper to fly out from Austin instead of Houston. As usual, we pay about $90 more to make the trip, so if you’ve got a fuel efficient car and friends to split gas money with, it’s worth the drive.
Current lowest round-trip prices I’ve seen today:
$374 – Houston (IAH) / Detroit (DTW)
$282 – Austin (AUS) / Detroit (DTW)
I’ll keep tabs on this route, if a cheaper alternative pops up I’ll put a post up.
