It looks like Delta has Athens (ATH) on sale again. This time for a $650 round-trip from Houston (HOU). The last time I posted about this route was in April and it was $680. A flight to Athens from Houston usually costs twice this amount. This fare will most likely require an overnight stop-over in Atlanta or Amsterdam on the way back.
I would take the overnight stop-over in Amsterdam because It’s a bit more interesting than Atlanta and this itinerary gives you a chance to spend a day there without additional airfare costs.
Note: I was not able to find this fare anywhere except for Delta.com. When I tried Expedia / Orbitz, etc… it came up priced around $800 – $1200. Go directly to Delta.com if you’re interested in booking for the lower price.

- Availability: Some availability in May for flights leaving Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday departures if your return is about 7 days later. Fare most likely will require an overnight stopover in either Atlanta or Amsterdam on the way back.
