Flights to smaller airports may require a long connection or two stops. When you begin your search, modify your filter to remove fares that have more than one connection, some of those smaller airports ONLY have flights with bad routing.
This is mostly Southwest starting a new domestic airfare sale. American, Alaska Airlines, Delta, and United almost always end up matching and in some cases, beating, these Southwest sales when they see them. It took them about 19-hours to match the previous sale.

I’m aware that Zipair has this for $644-$676, nonstop, round-trip. I covered that last week. Keep in mind that after bag and seat fees, you’ll end up paying more than AA fare, which doesn’t allows checked/carry-on without an additional fee.
This fare also lands in Haneda, which means you will spend less time and money getting to/from the airport compared to the Zipair fare that lands in Narita.
