British airways fares are a bit cheaper, but aren’t worth it due to the 6-hour connection.
United has NONSTOP One-way flights from Houston (IAH) to Tokyo (NRT), for 45k points in Economy or 65k points in Premium Plus. Both have +$6 in taxes and fees.
Of these two, 65k for Premium Plus is the better deal in my opinion. You get the larger seat in a 2-3-2 cabin, similar to a domestic first class seat (not lie-flat) and better cabin service.

This will be cheaper than Zipair flight once you factor in bag and meal fees that Zipair has; which United has for free.
