American Airlines and US Airways are offering great round-trip flights from Houston to multiple destinations in the Caribbean from $201! Those of you who missed out on this last month now have a chance to get in on some cheap airfare to awesome destinations.

Cheap Flights: Houston to St. Lucia $204 r/t 1-stop

Inexpensive round-trip flights from Houston (IAH) to St. Lucia (UVF) are on sale right now for $204. Flight once again requires an overnight in Miami in each direction for most dates of travel.

Status update for the Caribbean airfare sale

A few of you have asked me how to avoid the long Miami stopovers on the American Airlines Caribbean airfare sale. During the start of the sale, there wasn’t a discount fare basis that would route around it for a few of these destinations, but now there’s one that will route via Charlotte (CLT) and another that routes through Miami (MIA). It is now possible to avoid the overnight stopovers in Miami from Houston to Punta Cana, Grand Cayman, Antigua, St. Lucia and Montego Bay.

[07/31/2014 @ 12:00 PM] Update: It is now currently possible to avoid overnight stopovers in Miami for St. Lucia.
[08/01/2014 @ 4:44 PM] It appears that American Airlines and US Airways have ended their sale. Prices have increased to all destinations listed in this post by about $150.

Ideas: Coco Palm Resort, St. Lucia ~$83 September

The Coco Palm Resort is offering rooms from September to mid-December with either a king size bed, or two double beds starting at ~$83 per night. Which is pretty nice for what you get: Free WiFi, Reduit Beach, and proximity to a lot of local shops, bars, and restaurants. The rooms being offered at the discount rate are the resort’s “Kreole Standard Room” without the free breakfast. This deal pairs nicely with the discount airfare from Houston (IAH) to St. Lucia (UVF).

Update: Expedia and Hotels.com now offer the September dates, with complementary breakfast included, so use them instead of Booking.com. If you apply a coupon code you can take an additional 10% off the Hotels.com rate. CODE: JUL1410NA : 10% off Hotels. Book by 7/27/14, Travel By 9/28/14.

[07/30/2014 @ 8:36 PM] It appears that the price has increased to $91 for some sites offering breakfast. Booking.com still has it at $83 but doesn’t appear to offer free breakfast.
